About Us
"A trip back in time..."
Those who pass by say that even before entering the hotel a recondite passion for the building and its exterior façade is born. Imposing, irreverent, historical and nostalgic, this is a completely remodeled building, which begins its activity in July 2016.
Villa Ana Margarida Hotel invites its guests to embark on a journey to the Age of Discovery - a time when famous Portuguese navigators ventured on voyages and maritime explorations "by seas never before sailed", towards the conquest of new territories, between the years 1415 and 1543.
Located in the heart of the village of Ericeira, this hotel was, for 4 generations, the home of the "Casado" family and the carpentry workshop of one of its elders, Mr. Joaquim Casado. When exploring the reception, it is possible to observe several religiously framed pieces that date back to that time.
The building, currently reborn as a hotel, honors former members of the Casado family. On the exterior façade it is possible to observe the name chosen for the hotel - "Joaquim da Lúcia" (grandfather and great-grandmother of the members who currently operate it). At a central point in the hotel is an open-air patio, carefully decorated, where we can find yet another tribute to a loved one - grandmother Guilhermina.
To truly feel the essence of this space it is necessary to explore it. Every corner has a detail, and every step you climb up brings you closer to a splendid view from the terrace on the top floor. The ideal place to let your thoughts drift away as you feel the proximity of the sea in the air.
